Road Trip 2017: Day 9

Day 9 saw us travel home from our epic Road Trip. But first, we made one last stop in Eastend, Saskatchewan!

If you’ve ever been to Drumheller, AB, you’ll know all about the dinosaurs. Well it turns out Saskatchewan also has some dinosaurs. In a little place called Eastend (ironically in the west end of the province) there are also dead thunder lizards. And, they’ve apparently got some sweet funding because the building is really slick!

Turns out back in the day they found a T-Rex here in Eastend.  And contrary to popular belief, all my T-Rexes don’t live in Texas! The displays in Eastend really are top notch. You can’t really compare them to the Royal Tyrell Museum in Drumheller though. But they are very well done just the same, especially for being a tiny 1 horse prairie town!

We watched a video about the T-Rex find that looked like it had been filmed on a potato! They need to update that documentary. But it is fascinating nonetheless. If you’re ever going through the west side of the province, stop in at Eastend. You won’t be disappointed. We spent around an hour here and there is indeed lots to see and experience in the museum. All in all, this was a tremendous road trip. We saw incredible sites, visited with our incredible friends and had a great time all round! Until the next adventures! 😎

What a great trip! I really enjoyed your daily postings. Thanks so much for sharing. We’re planning a trip west for an upcoming family anniversary celebration and hope to do some exploring if the smoke lessens.
