Everyone loves ground hog day! I think today there is no chance of that little gaffer seeing his shadow. Whee! 😎 Should be good to go for an early spring on account of the wicked blizzard that just blew in… sigh. Oh well, here’s some cute photos of the kids & Reg’s cool groundhog day snack/craft. Ain’t it cute? Delicious too. 😀
As an aside, what’s the point of naming these g-hawgs such annoyingly long and obscure names? Punxsutawney Phil? Chattanooga Chuck? Holtsville Hal? Why not just simply Ted? Or Len? Or Ben?
I have a dream. Where groundhawgs, marmots and other small cave dwelling creatures, can have single syllable names that are easy for people to pronounce. I have a dream! 😎
In Canada, we change our money designs like most normal people change their clothes. Our brand spankin’ new 20s are out and as I looked them over, I couldn’t help but notice that Her Majesty looks, well, rather chapped. Mildly annoyed. Like when she saw prince Harry’s party pics from Vegas. They showed her that and took her picture and now, it’s on the 20 dollar bill! And the more you look at it, the scarier and more intimidating it is. Like she’s peering right into your soul and knows what you did! uhuhuhu… shudder! 😯
The other night we did a super fun shoot on Moir in the glamour garage. It was a spur of the moment kind of thing after they found these way cool wigs. The girls grabbed their head bands from the Relay for Life too which drove home the point of the shoot: Cancer Sucks. Like anything in life, if you let stuff drag you down, it will. But, on the other hand, if you boldly face the trials with faith, hope and love in the big guy upstairs, you will conquer! Especially if you can laugh and have a good time! 8) So that’s what we did. The name of the game was fun, glamour-ish shots. Lots of lights, lots of attitude. However, the girls need to work on “sassy.” Bubbly & fun loving is down pat, but sassy? I need blue steel. I need magnum! I need le tigré! Where’s that at?! 😉
Have a healthy halloween! We made these jack o’lanterns out of oranges! 8) The idea is that you fill them up with fruit and other healthy good things instead of the brutal madness of sugar. We made up a bunch of them for Phoebe’s pre-school party and I couldn’t resist nabbing this shot. When the kids get them, they won’t have lights in them though. hehheeehh… 😉
So tonight I was trying some way cool smoke tricks I saw on Gavin Hoey’s YouTube page. His tutorial is super cool and explains everything so I won’t repeat it all here. But it’s a fun technique that creates some really neat shots!
Then, you can get creative and go the next step further and do some colorizing in Photoshop (or in my case, GIMP). It also works pretty darn slick!
