Just a quick post for Sunday – I recently refreshed my portfolio website at schultzphotographic.ca. I liked my old site fine enough, but it was Flash. As a result it couldn’t be viewed on iOS devices. With the majority of people viewing web content on the internet from mobile devices, it only makes sense to have a website format that everyone can view. I switched to an HTML5 portfolio site that can be viewed by anyone, anywhere on any mobile device. Flash sites, as cool as they are, were designed for PC use with mice. In many ways, it’s already a dinosaur in that it predates the mobile “touch” generation. The new site has many flash-like features. I also updated my logo and blog and social media sites accordingly too. I like the more minimalist styling. 😎 And, I added a new gallery for my own on going photo projects. I’m excited to get them underway! Anywayz, just a quick post about the site update.
I was up in the Queen City of Regina doing a website photo package for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. It’s always nice to have photos of your building and what you do on your website so people can check out what’s shaking. The name of the game this time round was architectural shots, staff portraits, stock photography and some action shots of a typical sunday service. The shoot was fast and furious and fairly extensive. But we got it done before Regan and I went off to see Fiddler on the Roof live at the Arts Centre (which was AMAZING! Highly recommend you check it out). I wish I could have taken some pictures but they have a “poison dart photo policy” which means they employ a rainforest aborigine with his blow dart gun to *ftoof* shoot you in the neck if he sees you with a camera. You wake up naked on a hill of fire ants somewhere near buffalo pound I’m told. 😯 Shudder!
Well it’s finally official! I have launched a second website. It’s basically an online gallery of my photography that is a bit more professional looking than what my wordpress.com account can provide. I also decided to register a dot.ca domain to have a uniquely Canadian presence. 🙂 I will continue to update my blog here with more current projects and goings on. So, check out the new site and let me know what you think. It still has a few tweaks that need to be made yet. 😉
