Regan’s birthday present finally arrived! She wanted some new bling and bling she got. To go along with it, I decided I’d take snapshots of everyone listed on the necklace . . . in black and white. 😎 It’s timeless and awesome.
Happy Birthday (belated) to me! I got a new lens and I’m super stoked about it. Nikon announced their new 85mm f/1.8G prime in January. Half a year later, I’ve got one. And it is pure AWESOME. I really can’t emphasize enough about how much this lens rocks the set. I read a few reviews about it and everything was extremely positive. It’s sharp. Contrasty. Renders awesome colours. Focus is bang on. Shot wide open, it’s really good, stop it down to 2.5 it’s boo ya sharp & bokelicious! 😎 I finally got to try it out at Eddie & Roberta’s 50th Anniversary Come & Go Tea at the Alameda Legion, then also afterwards at the family party at the farm. It was mainly candids but I did do some family photos too. The event was a riot, despite the heat and everyone had a great time. I’m thankful to be able to have spent the day with the Frietags and very thrilled to try out the new lens. It didn’t disappoint!
Well it is certainly hard to believe that 2 whole months have gone by since FP was air lifted into the world. Where hath the time gone?! Unbelievable. The kids were playing outside yesterday in the beautiful weather and I took some quick candids. I’m still in disbelief of how fast time is flying by. I remember being a kid in school and hours dragged by like an eternity. Now, 2 months goes by like a blip on the radar! Crazy stuff. Anyways, here’s some more photos of FP (and the other kids too for good measure) 😎
The photos are done! This was a tremendously exciting project to work on! Me and my most beautiful photo assistant (and wife) 🙂 were blessed to be able to cover the OPHS Christmas Formal. It consisted of an hour and a half of portraits and then an hour and a half of candids at the dance. Pictures were on an ad hoc basis, come one come all. It was fast paced and quickly changing minute to minute for individuals, groups, and bigger groups! It was a metric tonne of fun! Then came the dance. It was candid photo mania! 😎 It was a great opportunity that I was happy to take part in. All the photos from the event will be available for purchase from OPHS as a school fundraiser. I have included two quick collages of but a wee sliver of the images! 😆
Ever noticed one of the peculiarities of the English language is where the ‘i’ and the ‘e’ go in words? It confuses not only second graders but adults as well. ‘I’ before ‘E’, except after C. Unless the word is German: Rottweiler, Stein, Hammermeister! 8)
We had a fun photo shoot last night at the Hammermeister haus. It was nice to take advantage of the sliver of mild winter that is over us right now. Fingers crossed it stays without getting too icy! 🙂 But we do live in Saskatchewan and we know the weather will probably change (for the worse) any time now… But on the sunny side of life, here’s a couple of highlights from the shoot! 😉
We had another big bash on Moir Dr. last night, a combo Birthday Party for Big T and Liv. It was the usual pandemonium, but this year it’s 4 big ones! It’s insane for me to believe that. When we first moved to Moir, James & Megan and Livvy came over to our house one night. Liv was being carried cuz she was a few months old. Now she’s 4. THAT’S CRAZY!! Where does the time go? And Tristan too, how can these kids be so big so quick? ❓ Anyways, here’s a few snaps from the party. I love how we were able to end off the night with Barracudas. My wife and mother in law will love me for this… 😉
As we all know, spring hath sprung! Moir Dr. celebrated by having a block party, a variable hootenanny in the hills, a carousing in the crescent, a shindig in the streets! It was wonderful to see the kids ripping up the road again. It’s been far too long!!!! 🙂 Bring on the Sunshine!
