Every once in a while all the stars align and things work out. Magnascope had all their equipment in the yard the other day – an extreme rarity – and we were able to get together for a quick photo shoot. Fortunately the weather even cooperated. Utilizing a front end loader, I was able to get an elevated point of view from which to take the photos. It was really incredible to see all the trucks lined up in one place! I shot everything HDR to bring out the colour and texture of the sky. It all came together really well! 😎
It was only -38 with the windchill today so I thought I’d go and do some HDR photography… I’m insane. But it’s true, the worst weather often gives the best opportunities for making photos. We had killer sun dogs again today as the weather was diabolical. I actually didn’t really set out to do HDR. I wanted a slow shutter speed shot of drifting snow. But I realized I forgot my variable ND filter in my other camera bag. Doh. So HDR it was! (more…)
My lovely wife volunteered me to take Santa photos at Oxbow’s Expressway Family Centre. It’s always a riot. By and large the kids all do great. But thankfully, there’s always a few who are absolutely terrified of jolly ol’ St. Nick! 😎 It’s priceless!!! I love these shots because they are so real. You can’t fake this kind of anguish. bwhahahaahaha…….. 😆
My brother and his beautiful fiancé got hitched in Moose Jaw last weekend and I hitched ’em! If I open a catering and decorating business I could do everything! hehehe… 😉 It was my esteemed honour to officiate at my little brother’s wedding and to do the formal photos too. I’m not gonna lie, it was as nerve wracking as it was exciting. For family, you want everything to be a notch above. And I did my very best to pull out all the stops. We had two great locations in Moose Jaw. Crescent Park was absolutely beautiful and we also got to do some cool shots at Sahara Spa. We were very blessed to have 2 other shooters take photos all day of the pre-service stuff, the ceremony and the reception! Thanks again to Jimmy and Ham for their great job. All the best to Ryan and Tristin, the latest Schultzes on the block! 😎
Riley and Taybrey had a beautiful day for a wedding back in August. It was a little blustery at first but the blue skies came out in full force and made for a lovely day. Here’s a couple of my favorite shots from the day. I’m also partial to this cool bridal party shot featuring a beautiful blue Pontiac. 😎 Total of 5 flashes. I earned the Joe McNally Jr. award for it! 😉
Look at this handsome & dashing young man ready to start the world on fire! We had a fast and furious grad shoot, but not with sports cars or Tokyo drift. Instead, we had the venerable Model-T Ford. 😎 And, we got to make an incredible photo with three generations of Hammermeisters alongside the Model-T and their iconic mini grain elevator in the background. There’s a lot of history in these parts and I have been privileged to be part of it for a couple of years. 😀 It was a metric tonne of fun doing this shoot and I wish Logan all the best in his future endeavours. God bless, my friend!
Congratulations to all the 2013 Grads! It’s been a long road but what an accomplishment! We had a great grad day here in Oxbow. A bit chaotic to start the day with a massive power failure from 8AM to 3PM but everyone prevailed and looked fantastic. I shot these grad pics of Mariah in advance of Grad, but I didn’t publish any lest I spoil the grand reveal of the dress. 😎 She was up for anything and we had an awesome shoot! We even were able to make it down to the wire and squeeze out what was left of a sunset. 😀 Congrats Mariah, you rocked the set!
